Income Inequality in Britain and America

. . . income inequality rose in both Britain and America between 1977 and 1995. In America, it regained the old pre-1929 levels, contrary to the official figures. Second, wealth and earnings gaps widened sometime in America between 1774 and 1913. Third, inequality rose in Britain from 1740 to 1810, earlier than others have suspected . . .

World Income Distrubition

A researcher at the World Bank is looking at the income distribution around the world.

True World Income Distribution, 1988 and 1993: First Calculation Based on Household Surveys Alone: calculates, for the first time ever, inequality among world citizens using detailed household survey data from more than 100 countries. Shows that inequality increased between 1988 and 1993.
