    Ya, and that’s why people are insane for investing in hedge funds. There’s simply no contractual obligation to ever give investors their money back. Investors have to rely on the hedge fund wanting to maintain their good name.. and that’s a good bet, except when all hedge funds already have a bad name.

    Thanks for linking to this. I just went and looked at some of the other whiteboard videos at Marketplace. This is a really terrific use of the whiteboard to help explain something with a complex set of elements. Kudos to Marketplace for trying to make these concepts more accessible. I’d note that Mr. Hirsch seems to know his story well, even if the visualization is unfolding in real time, and this is what makes these kind of dynamic explanation work well.
